AYP (Sears, Roper, Husky, Poulan) Quill Replacement

The quill assembly has a blade mounting bolt on the bottom flange. It is not connected to the nut on the top that holds the pulley. If the quill assembly is mounted you will need to wedge a wood block between the belt and the pulley to keep it from slipping. If the quill assembly is not on the mower, use a vise to hold the blade flange while loosening the blade mount bolt.
